NO MATTER HOW FAR HE RAN, Vincent Allemand never felt like he had really left Gotham City.

He had been all over the continent, changing his identity more often than he changed his clothes, and yet not once had he looked in the mirror and seen anything but a Gothamite staring back. He was his mother city's son, and you could see it in the wired tension of his shoulders, the sharp lines of his jaw, the knife point of his canines. Vincent had spent three years with his back to Gotham City, but the city had stayed at his back. Gotham was like a ghost, haunting him.
