growing up in a mexican household, you are more likely to hear about countless of old generations of folktales. but that's all they ever were to emilia, just stories, they were never real.
emilia knew her abuela and abuelo would tell her and scott about these stories of the supernatural world in order to scared them and to stop misbehaving.
until one night that lead her wandering around the woods late in the night with her brother and his best friend stiles that made her believe maybe those folktales weren't just stories after all.
