Chapter 6

NIARA'S POV

Edward left me, apparently he needed to get back to his job.

I wonder if that meant murdering a politician or his actual job.

Mia had calmed down which was good.

It wasn't long until Emma finally returned.

"Thank you so much"
Emma stated.

"It's fine but I wouldn't leave your child with strangers in this city, it's not the safest"
I warned.

"Is there any reason why?"
Emma asked.

"Crime ratings are high here, like very high"
I deadpanned.

"Oh well thank you"
Emma replied.

I watched as she just left.

Well at least that's over.

I decided to close up before heading to the cafe.

I wanted the Pumpkin Pie.

I ordered it and watched the TV that was in the cafe.

I watched as Pete Savage getting tortured appeared as well as the Riddler appearing and talking.

Looks like Pete wouldn't be alive for much longer.

I thought the guy was an ass.

Well it doesn't affect me him being dead.

I finished my Pumpkin Pie.

"Oh can I have a Pumpkin Pie to take out please?"
I asked.

"Yeah sure"
The waitress smiled.

It wasn't long until she returned with a slice of Pumpkin Pie ready for takeout.

"Thanks"
I stated.

I left the cafe and headed back to my apartment.

I messaged the Riddler to tell him I got him a Pumpkin Pie if he wanted to come over and get it.

If he likes Pumpkin Pie so much it just shows me more proof that his Edward.

The Riddler replied saying he would come and get it tomorrow which is fine.

The Riddler was supposed to be coming to get his Pumpkin Pie but I didn't quite know how he would sneak in here with his mask on.

I felt someone stood behind me.

It scared me really badly because I wasn't expecting it, I felt calmer as I saw it was the Riddler.

"Why would you do that to me?"
I breathed.

"Oh there's the Pumpkin Pie"
I pointed.

I heard another knock on the door.

I could only think of one person who that could be and that was Bruce.

"Hide in my bedroom"
I demanded.

The Riddler actually did what I said with no complaints.

I opened the door to see Bruce.

"What are you doing here?"
I questioned.
