The Avengers were gathered in Bruce and Tony's lab, discussing their next move.

"All our work, gone," Bruce said. "Ultron cleaned out, used the internet as an escape hatch."

"He's been in everything," Natasha said. "Files, surveillance. probably know more about us than we know about each other."

Rhodey spoke up. "He's in your files. He's in the internet. what if he decided

to access something a little more interesting?"

"Nuclear codes," Maria finished for him.

"Nuclear codes," Rhodey confirmed. "Look, we need to make some calls, assuming we still can. (L/N), is your place safe?"

"Doubtful," He said. "If Ultron's been in our files, then he knows who I am. He'll be watching my place like a hawk."

"He said he wanted us dead," Natasha added.

"He didn't say dead," Steve reminded them. "He said extinct."

"He also said he killed somebody," Clint added.

"But there wasn't anybody else in the building," Maria said.

"Yes, there was." Tony pulled up a holographic image of the JARVIS Ai. The orange shape had been thoroughly destroyed, bits and pieces of it strewn about like a bunch of Lego pieces.

"This is insane," Bruce said.

"JARVIS was the first line of defense," Steve said. "He would've shut Ultron down, it makes sense,"

"No, Ultron could've assimilated JARVIS. This isn't strategy, this is rage."

"This kind of rage, I've seen it before," (Y/N) said. "Ra's Al Ghul nearly destroyed Gotham - if he'd succeeded, the city would look a lot like our pal here."

Thor suddenly barged in and grabbed Tony by the throat and held him against the wall.

"Come on," Tony remarked. "Use your words, buddy."

"I have more than enough words to describe you, Stark."

Steve stepped in. "Thor! The legionnaire."

Thor let go of Tony. "Trail went cold about a hundred miles out but it's headed north, and it has the scepter. Now we have to retrieve it, again."

"The genie's out of that bottle," Nat remarked. "Clear and present is Ultron."

"I don't understand," Helen Cho, who was also there, said. "You built this program, why is it trying to kill us?"

"I made a few programs in my day," (Y/N) said. "Let's just say that sometimes, things don't work out the way you want to or think they will."

Tony suddenly started chuckling.

"You think this is funny?" Thor asked.

"No. It's probably not, right? Is this very terrible? Is it so... it is. It's so terrible."

"This could've been avoided if you hadn't played with something you don't understand."

"No, I'm sorry. It is funny. It's a hoot that you don't get why we need this."

"Tony, maybe now might not be the time to-" Bruce started.

"Really? That's it? You just roll over and show your belly every time somebody snarls."

"The dog metaphor is making me uncomfortable," (Y/N) said, earning him a smack on the shoulder from Nat. "Ow."

Bruce ignored his comment. "Only when I've created a murder bot."
